I Can See For Miles

Story of the ImageThis scene caught my eye because of its visual and metaphorical perspectives. Visually, the landscape was stunning and I loved how the foreground ridge with the hikers, the background mountains, and the sky relate to each other. Metaphorically, this was Nature reminding us of how small the human element is in the grand scheme of things, and how little our petty problems and foibles matter. Puts everything in the proper perspective!

This “view portal” that frames the image is a photograph of the ornate rim from the headlight of 1963 Chrysler Turbine automobile. I digitally removed the glass and use the rim to frame still life compositions and landscape scenes. The projections resemble the tick marks on an analog clock or meter and provide graphic tension with whatever subject I’m spotlighting in the headlamp.

Printed on specially-coated aluminum, ready to hang. No frame required.
