The Arlington Center for the Arts is new to me, but I’m very excited to have a piece accepted for the Center’s upcoming show, “Very Superstitious.” The exhibition focuses on symbols and omens with the Halloween season underscoring the theme. Here’s my contribution to the show, “Moon Drops,” a composite piece printed on high gloss metal:
“Moon Drops” is a visual exploration of the actual and the possible. Fallen leaves and water droplets spiral deep into a dark vortex. But the bright moon shines within, reminding us that hope lies in the strangest places and allowing us to recall our “passion for the possible,” as the philosopher Soren Kierkegaard so eloquently stated, even in a time when so much seems impossible.
The show will run October 11 – November 8, 2019 at the Arlington Center for the Arts (20 Academy St. Arlington MA 02476).
