Two of my abstract composites, “Diffusion” and “Oscillation,” were juried into “Off the Clock,” an exhibition sponsored by Fort Point Artists Community (FPAC). The exhibit will be on display at FPAC’s Atlantic Wharf Gallery in Boston (290 Congress Street) from August 1, 2019 through September 27, 2019. A reception will be held on August 1 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM ET.
“Diffusion” combines multiple images taken at New York’s Grand Central Station on a typical weekday morning. Waves of commuters and travelers passing through the main hall on their way out create a constant flux, leaving ghostlike traces as they exit the station or board their trains.
“Oscillation” goes above ground and captures the pulsing rush hour atmosphere of a busy intersection in New York City. Throngs of pedestrians fade into fleeting, kaleidoscopic shapes as each burst of frenetic energy waxes and wanes with the changing of the walk signals and the flow of traffic.
If you’re local, please stop by the show!
